Where to go in Calvados with your pet?

Indeed, in our 4-star campsite in Ouistreham near Caen, the cats and dogs accepted (excluding category 1 and 2). They can enjoy mobile home, its terrace and grassy area, as well as the campsite walkways and the beach 500m away only. The long, sandy beach is ideal for strolling with your 4-legged friends!
Dog-friendly beaches in Normandy
When you bring your pet in our 4-star campsite in Ouistreham, you can walk your dog on the beaches. A short tour of the beaches and periods authorized for dogs in Calvados.
- Ouistreham's long beach The beautiful Ouistreham Riva-Bella beach, just 500 metres from the campsite, is the perfect place for your pet to stretch its legs. Dog-free period: June 15 to September 15 (except on the ferry side, to the right of rescue station 1).
- Point of headquarters in Ouistreham Once you've passed the lock and the magnificent lighthouse, you and your dog can enjoy a leisurely stroll all year round, without any restrictions.
- Colleville–Montgomery This small, family-friendly seaside resort is ideal for a stroll on the sand. Dogs are allowed on the beach (outside the supervised swimming area).
- Lion sur mer : just 10 minutes by car from Ouistreham, dogs on a leash are allowed (except July-August)
- Luc sur mer : here, leashed dogs are allowed from 1er October to March 31 on all beaches. Authorized all year round on the beach to the right of lifeguard station no. 2.
A few rules for your dog at the campsite
In order to guarantee clean and comfortable campsite for everyone, holidaymakers and employees alike, here are a few instructions to follow when you come to Les Prairies de la Mer with your pet :
- Your pet (dog or cat) is accepted except for category 1 and 2 dogs.
- The health record with up-to-date vaccinations must be presented at reception on arrival.
- All pets must be kept on a leash on the campsite.
- It is compulsory to pick up droppings and dispose of them in the household waste garbage can.
- Your pet must not be left alone in your rental property in your absence (part of the deposit may be retained in the event of damage)
- Places your pet is not allowed in : aquatic areas, children's playground and sandpit, sanitary facilities, indoor playroom, gym. Pets are welcome in the restaurant and on the terrace.
